Our Team, Our Moment

When Georgia State began the 2018-19 season there was only one goal in mind: get back to the NCAA Tournament.

The pursuit of back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances came with a lot of highlights in non-conference play. On November 21, a 91-67 throttling against the Georgia Bulldogs (Highlights). December 4, a thrilling 83-80 comeback victory against Alabama (Highlights). The Panthers were rolling into conference play with an impressive 9-4 record. In the final game of the regular season, the Panthers went on the road to defeat in-state rival Georgia Southern 90-85, clinching the Sun Belt regular season title. As a #1 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament, the Panthers were dominant defensively and held opponents to a combined shooting percentage of 28%. When the final horn sounded on championship Sunday, the scoreboard read: GSU 73 | UTA 64. Georgia State had punched their ticket to the big dance once again, and the preseason goal was accomplished.

As the Panthers begin their NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 22, there is a new goal in mind: Just Win.
